Gym Work Elite exploded in the second to get past Team Final Black 49-39 to win the King Of The Capital 8th Grade/14U Championship. Congrats to both teams for playing a good championship game.
King Of The Capital 8th Grade/14U Top Performers
MVP –Dylan Napoleon Guard (Gym Work Elite)- Napoleon once again had a stellar performance. He pumped in 15 points by scoring from all three levels. I like how he has expanded his handle and will make decisions off the bounce. When he’s in attack mode, going downhill he’s hard to contain.
Rasheem Yon Guard (Gym Work Elite)- Yon was super quick off the bounce. His change of direction was ridiculous and he had a couple of plays that took over the game. On defense he knew how to pressure the rock while making the ball handler work.
Latief White Forward (Team Final Black)- The southpaw was a load to handle all Sunday. He showed good touch and dominated in the lane and the baseline. He scored at will in the semifinals game and also did well in the championship. I think this kid has a bright future.
Khabir Washington Guard (Team Final Black)- Washington is strong guard that knows how to get in the lane and make things happen. I like his toughness and willingness to make plays at both ends of the floor. He was also a double digit scorer.
Jordan Owens Guard (Team Final Black)- I like some of the attributes he brings to the table. He digs down hard on defense and can get you few a buckets on the other end. I love his range on his outside shot.
