The Basketball Spotlight 6th Grade Orange Division gave us a glimpse into the future. Here’s our first look at the top performers.
Tip Off Classic 6th Grade Orange Division Top Performers Part 1
Willie Darden Forward (Expressions Elite)- Darden is a 6’3 forward that can handle and push the ball in transition. It is good for a team that has a big that can grab the ball off the rim and take it up the court. He is a very good finisher around the rim and has an array of moves to finish in his bag. He is a great rebounder and can defend all five positions.
Dom Mauro Guard (Expressions Elite)- Mauro is the glue that holds this team together. He is like the Swiss Army Knife that does everything for his team. He is a knockdown shooter that seems to make big shots at the right moments. He has a great handle to help him get to anywhere on the floor. Dom is a greater finisher around the rim and can set up his teammates for easy finishes. He moves great without the ball and always seems to be open.
Naz Hilario Guard (Expressions Elite)- Hilario is the floor general on the team. He runs the team and makes it easy for the rest of teammates on the floor. He has a very good handle and is capable of knocking the open three. Naz can take control of the tempo of the game and leads his team to victory.
Jett Harrison Guard (Team Final)- Harrison is the total package that can do everything on the floor. He is a great defender that moves his feet very well. He shoots the ball very well and finishes at the rim very well through contact. He can handle the ball very well and get to wherever he wants on the court.
Tyree Thorp Guard (Team Final)- Thorp is a knock down shooter. If the team needed a big shot he hit it. Tyree is an excellent defender that makes it hectic for offensive players. He is a high energy player that is always moving on the court. He is a good passer that sets up his teammates for easy scorers.
Chris Lee Guard (Team Final)- Lee is an excellent rebounder that always seems to be around the ball. He is a good finisher around the rim and has excellent hands in catching the ball. He always seems to find himself around the ball and helping his team to victory.
Ky Strong Guard (Team Final)- Strong is the ultimate hustler that does everything for his team to win games. He is a great rebounder and plays tough defense. He is the energy player for this team and is usually around every loose ball.
Jaydon Branche Guard (Expressions Elite)- Branche is a super athletic wing that gets downhill very fast. He attacks the rim very well and finishes through contact. He has the potential to be a high major player. He has a serviceable handle that helps him to get anywhere on the floor. He is a high energy player that helps put his teammates in a good scoring position. Jaydon is a great defender that can take away teams’ best players.
