The 7th Grade Division at the Memorial Day Classic gave us a load of fresh faces. Basketball Spotlight loves to introduce you guys to fresh faces. Here’s our second look at the top performers we saw in Neptune on Memorial Day weekend.
Basketball Spotlight MDC 7th Grade Top Performers Part 2
Anthony Mauro Guard (Team Reborn)- Few players score the rock like Mauro as the 6th Grader caught fire at the MDC. The southpaw lit up K Low Elite with 28 markers including 3 treys. As you can see he can score the rock in bunches with ease. He gets it done from all three levels. I can’t imagine how much damage he would do on the 6th Grade level.
Robert Phelps Forward (Team Reborn)- I love this versatile forward’s game and potential. He was able to score from all around the floor. I really feel like he hasn’t even scratched the surface of where he is going to be. He dropped 14 points in their win versus K Low Elite.
Deshawn Yates Guard (K Low Elite)- This guard brings the pain. He pushes the rock down the throat of the defense and isn’t afraid to score the rock. He brings the Philly toughness that this organization has been known for, for years. He dropped 14 points in their loss to Team Reborn. We will keep an eye on him definitely.
Malik Hughes Forward (K Low Elite)- Hughes has a stocky build but don’t get it confused this youngster is very light on his feet and will break you down off the dribble. I like how he attacks the cup and also willing to let it go from deep. He’s a good plug for this squad.
