J.E.M. Holiday Classic Recap: OSL Wins Thriller!

Our Savior Lutheran

Elijah Moore hit a three pointer as time expired to give Our Savoir Lutheran to a 50-47 win over Gil Saint Bernard in the J.E.M. Holiday Classic (Strength Division) Championship game. Ian Jackson led the champions with 20 markers while Chaz Mainor finished with 16 markers for GSB points in the loss.

J.E.M. Holiday Classic Top Performers (Strength Division)

MVP – Ian Jackson Forward (OSL)- The lanky 6’4 forward came to play at this event. He stayed in attack mode and used his athleticism to finish off plays. Jackson runs the floor like a deer and will go above the rim if giving the opportunity. On defense he plays the passing lanes well and rebounds the rock which usually leads to fast breaks. He came into this event is a national rep and held it down. .
Elijah Moore Guard (OSL)- Moore accuracy behind the arc was outstanding during this event. He was 9 for 10 from three-point range. He has a quick release and range from well long distance. His teammates understand his strength and makes sure he gets the rock in a prime location. This kid can really stroke it. He left with All Tournament Team honors.

Brenden Hamilton Guard (OSL)- Hamilton made an appearance the second and contributed right away. He charged the basket and bullied his way 10 points. His points came at the right time to help his squad pull out the close victory.

Chaz Mainor Forward (GSB)- Mainor is like a raging bull when he charging with the rock. He burst through the defense and uses his strength to finish at the rim. He’s relentless on the glass on both ends of the floor. His motor is on a all time high. You have to be physically and mentally ready to bang with him. He took home the Sportsmanship Award!
Samir Thomas Guard (GSB)- Thomas played with more energy the second day and the result to prove dividends. Samir finished at the rim with twisting layups while using his touch. I also like the way he pushed the on the floor and hit the glass with 6 rebounds. He took All Tournament Team honors.
Clavin Wong Guard (GSB)- Wong runs the point for GSB. He set the tempo but doesn’t force the action. Wong best attribute was his ability to knock down the open three when the ball swung his way.
Zyria May Forward (GSB)- May played well during stretches. I like the energy the he brought with steals and running the floor. He scored a couple of buckets after getting these steals.
