Moody Park Summer League Top Performers (Middle School)

Calvin Moore

The Moody Park Summer League kicked off last night and Basketball Spotlight was on hand for the event. Here are the players that impressed us.

Moody Park Summer League Top Performers (Middle School)

Calvin Moore Guard (Bball Spotlight)- Moore had the controls of the Spotlight squad and drove the car very well. He attacked with an up tempo style while scoring and dishing to teammates. He’s difficult to trap because of his speed and craftiness. On defense he led the team in steals and caused numerous turnovers in the press.

Jeffrey Wright Forward (Bball Spotlight)- The rising 8th Grader has become a name to know in the Mercer County area. The southpaw once again got low post position and operated with turnaround shots and face up moves off the dribble. He’s a huge load to handle.
Davontay Hudson Guard (Bball Spotlight)- Hudson provides the slashing type scoring for this loaded bunch. He charged the lane for the wing and finished after getting out in transition. He’s wired to score and showed everyone last night.
Stesher Mathelier Forward (Bball Spotlight)- Standing 6’7 Stesher was perhaps the best prospect on the floor last night. He has developed a great deal since watching him last. On defense he’s a mountain to conquer and has acquired some post moves.
Naire Preston Guard (K & D Express)- The announcer called Preston “The Problem” and I can see why. He stayed in attack mode while putting tremendous pressure on the defense. He cut through the teeth and usually finished at the tin. On defense he was fearless while pressuring the rock and playing the passing lanes.
Amir Taylor Guard (S/D&D Travel)- Taylor was also a guard with good size and a strong build. Every time his squad needed a bucket you saw Taylor powering through. He plays the game with good composure and rarely turns the rock over. He was a key in their victory.
Quiyon McMillan Guard (S/D&D Travel)- McMillan also played a huge part in his team winning last night. He made some huge buckets in the mid-range area and looked good on the defensive end. He doesn’t look to be flashy but relies on substance to get the job done.
