Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 6th Grade Top Performers Part 2

Bahsil Laster

The Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 6th Grade Division gave us a look into the future. Here’s our second look at the top performers.

Basketball Spotlight Tip Off Classic 6th Grade Top Performers Part 2

Bahsil Laster Forward (Fidonce Basketball) – Laster is a long wing that was one of the prospects with a high upside in the 6th grade division. It seemed that he was only scratching the surface of his potential and that he could blossom into a big time player on both ends of the floor. Right now he is able to knock down the 3ball and has adequate ball handling skills to go to work from the wing in the half could or do some damage in transition. He had 11 and 17 points in the two games we watched.

Umar Sabree Guard (Fidonce Basketball) – Sabree is a combo guard that is looking to get buckets. He is the best 3 point shooter on the team as he had 6 total long balls in the two games we watched. What stood out about Umar is that he was the ultimate competitor with a won’t lose attitude. He tallied 15 and 18 points in the games we watched.
Khaafiq Myers Guard (Fidonce Basketball) – Myers is a point guard that has a good feel for the game and nice court vision. He has handles that allows him to get into the paint breaking down the defense either scoring himself or kicking to and open shooter. He finished with 13 points including two 3 pointers in one of the games we watched.
Jaheim Martin Guard (Fidonce Basketball) – Martin is a big point guard that was a nice change of pace guy off the bench for Fidonce. He had nice handles and played with a good pace. He was looking more to get him teammates involved versus trying to score. We feel with his size he could be an elite defender.
Rashee Bell Forward (NJ Bulldogs) – Bell was one of the more dominating forces in the 6th grade division with height and strong frame. He was all over the glass finishing on rebound put backs. We loved how active he was and how hard he played. He also showed that he can convert from the FT line. He had 9 and 13 point in the games we watched.
Brandon Nunez Guard (NJ Bulldogs) – Nunez is a high IQ point guard that has good size. He likes to get the outlet or rebound himself and push the ball up the court putting pressure on the defense before they get a chance to setup. He understands the drive and kick game and Brandon does a good job at balancing his scoring with getting his teammates involved.
Jacob Carmona Forward (Playtime Panthers) – Carmona is a big strong wing that plays with toughness. We liked how he did the little things like diving on the floor for a loose ball and trying to take the ball from the other team’s big creating a jump ball situation. Jacob can score at the rim and he has range out to the 3 point line. He had 10 markers in the game we watched.
Jaylin “Cookie Monster” Bushell Guard (Playtime Panthers) – Cookie is a nice size guard that makes a difference on both ends of the floor. We saw him block shots on the defensive end and post up a smaller defender on the offensive end finishing with his left hand. He also attacked the rim off of the dribble and we like him as a prospect as he has really long arms.
