Cameron "The Prince" Reddish
Hello basketball world! I am Cameron Reddish, 6’4, 165 lbs, Team Final eighth grade guard. First off, I would like to thank Mike Melton and the Basketball Spotlight staff for giving me the opportunity to share some aspects of my daily life with everyone.
This weekend, I had the good fortune of traveling down to the Boo Williams Sportsplex for the Nike Invitational in Hampton, VA with the ninth grade team. Playing up with the 15’s was a great experience. We played hard and worked well as a team which allowed us to come away undefeated and win the chip. I played valuable minutes and did what I could to contribute to the team. I feel I had my best performance in the championship game against Team Takeover. The game was very intense with a lot of running back and forth. I was able to hit a few three’s and get to the free throw line and convert. We ended up winning the game by 11, and my teammates were saying that I was the MVP. It was a great feeling being able to play well and earn the respect of my teammates, who are a year older than me.
The drive back home from VA wasn’t bad at all. I fell asleep for a couple hours and then woke up and conversed with my mom. She came down to support me all weekend. My dad stayed at home in Norristown, PA because my younger brother, Aaron Reddish, had a school event this weekend. Once I got home, I hung out with my family and relaxed. Back to school tomorrow, it’s time to start studying for finals. Basketball has to take a backseat to my books this week as I prepare for my exams. I’ll talk to y’all soon!
Thanks,
Cameron, Team Final Scholar Athlete
