MYM Tournament To Benefit Crohn Disease Research
WHAT IS mYm: Make your Mark (mYm) is a one day charitable basketball event to raise money for Crohn's Disease Research. It will include three contests: A free throw shootout, skills challenge, and three point shootout. There will also be tournament games. All winners of the events/games will receive a prize. By participating in the Make your Mark tournament as a player, you will receive a t-shirt and wristband! Also, if you attend, whether as a player or visiting, you will get the chance to win autographed items and other cool prizes, see good basketball, and get the chance to meet some great guests. It will truly be an awesome day of fun and basketball for all!
WHY: My 14 year old brother, Mark, has had Crohn's Disease since he was 5 years old. He has struggled, battled, and perservered at times, but continues to be a happy and active teenager. Mark currently attends Princeton Day School in Princeton, NJ. He is in the 8th grade and played on the varsity middle school for the last two years. In addition, he plays for Ewing Rec, Ewing Travel Basketball, and MC Elite U14 AAU team. Mark has always had a strong passion for the game of basketball with his first idol being Allen Iverson and now LeBron James. Make your Mark is an event to have a fun day of basketball while also raising money for Crohn's Disease research. The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) has been actively helping in planning and contributing ideas regarding the event. All of the money raised from this event will go to the CCFA towards research to hopefully help change at least one person's battle against Crohn's.
