The Grand Finale has arrived and first up to bat will be our 5th Graders. This final four should be very exciting. Here’s our preview of what to expect once we hit Trenton Catholic:
Grand Finale Final Four 5th Grade Preview
#1 Seed CJ Hawks
Resume: Champions (Clash For The Cup and MDC)
The Hawks enter the Final Four as the #1 seed. The fundamentally sound club will tangle with Nations Basketball Academy in the semifinals. In order for them to get the banner they must control the tempo, handle ball pressure and stick to their game plan. They
#2 Seed NYC Gauchos
Resume: Champions (Tip Off Classic and AC Showcase)
The Choz are perhaps the most explosive and feared squad in this event. If they get rolling they are capable of blowing any team out of the gym. Their semifinal matchup pits them against Team Glory which might be the most exciting game of the day. If they want to take the banner to the Bronx they need to apply that pressure and run like Choz teams of yester years.
#3 Seed Team Glory
Resume: Runner Up (Tip Off Classic and Clash For The Cup)
Glory was close to winning both tournaments listed above but now they can end the year the right way by taking the ultimate banner. They must first take care of the Choz in the semifinals which should be a dandy. For them to win it all they need to get their dynamic guards going early and often. It would be a great story for them to take the banner back to Maryland.
#4 Seed Nations Basketball Academy
Resume: Champions (AC Showcase-Blue) Runner Up (MDC)
After winning the AC Showcase NBA proved they were legit by making it to the finals of the MDC. In the semifinals they will be looking to revenge a close loss to the CJ Hawks. But for them to shock the world and win it all their big guards will have to bring their A games.
