Nate and Former Teammates
Hello basketball world, my week was awesome and here’s how everything went.
Monday was a short day for me. School was normal but we had a playoff game for my school team. We are the #1 seed so we played against the 8th seed and blew them out. I had a good game and afterwards I went home to get some dinner and sleep.
Tuesday we had Spanish and I really enjoy learning a new language. After school I stayed for the 5th and 6th Grade girl’s game. They played well and won by 25 points. They have a real good team. Later on I went home and just crashed.
Wednesday I had that math block and I was not excited. My teacher even knows how much I hate staying in one class for one hour and 15 minutes. I know I sound like Greg Heffley from Diary of a Wimpy Kid but it’s the truth. Later we had a game against St. Thomas and I played well. Afterwards I went home and went straight to sleep. The next day school was normal and we just had the reading block that was kind of interesting.
Friday was a great day. I had the Black History performance at school. I was nervous and forgot most of my speech. But I did remember the dance and everyone clapped for us. Next I went to practice which didn’t require us to run a lot; we just went over our plays. After practice I went to get a haircut and straight home to play NBA 2K. I was upset because my player made the All Star Game but only played 18 minutes. He did hit the winning shot over Kobe. I can’t wait for that moment when that really happens but it will be over Lebron or KD in the NBA finals.
Saturday was a long day. I woke up and went to the breakfast club workout. Then I went to Pottstown, PA for the AGame Tournament. We had a fun and competitive game against PYO but we lost by four. Then I watched my brother Josh play for the Metro Flyers and they won both games. Finally, it was great seeing my boy Markquis Nowell at the tournament he came down from Kentucky to play with New Rens.
Sunday was championship day for GSA. I would be my very last game wearing this uniform and I was nervous. First, I watched Josh play and they blew the other team out. Now it was time for our game and we had to face St. Joes. I knew they would play a box and one on me so I became a facilitator. I had a triple-double and we won by 18 points. I was also proud of my little brother, he also had a good game. Lastly, I would like to GSA staff and family for support. Special thanks to Coach Will, Coach Brian, Coach Tamahl, my teammates, Isaiah “Boogie” Briscoe, Malcolm Manning and Perry Christie for coming out to support me. Also a shout out to the twins David and Matt Kachleries, they also won a championship over the weekend.
Ok that was my week, Deuces I’m Out!
