One On One Feat: Qon Murphy (CB Spiders)
Every kid dreams of nailing a game winning shot to win a championship. Qon Murphy realized his dream last season by nailing the game winner to defeat Team Takeover during the finals of the Team Richmond Shootout. Murphy then went on and had an excellent season with the CB Spiders. We got a chance to chat with him and here’s our one on one
One On One
BS: How was your season playing with the CB Spiders?
QM: My season with the CB Spiders was good. We finished 10th in the Country. I was the 6th man and a role player and this year I am working to expand my role.
BS: What was your best moment of the season?
QM: My best moment of the season was hitting the game winning shot against Team Takeover in the Championship of the MASO in Richmond, VA. Winning back to back NC AAU Championships and finishing 10th in AAU Nationals.
BS: What is your dream college?
QM: My dream college is NC State University because that is where my dad went.
BS: What do you enjoy the most about AAU Basketball?
QM: The thing I enjoy most about AAU basketball is going to nationals and being able to play the best teams in the nation.
BS: What’s the strongest aspect of your game?
QM: Shooting.
BS: What part of your game needs the most work?
QM: I need to improve on dribbling in traffic and moving without the ball.
BS: What player do you pattern your game after?
QM: Ray Allen.
BS: What are your career goals?
QM: To become an NFL football player and open my own restaurant.
BM: Give me one word to describe Basketball Spotlight?
QM: Exciting.
