Basketball Spotlight 11U Top 10 Presented By Agame Team Apparel
The 11U Division has treated us to a great season. This age level has been very unpredictable throughout the season, which should make for an interesting Summer Slam. Here’s our Top 10. Remember these rankings are just our opinion and should be taken as such.
Basketball Spotlight 11U Top 10 Presented By AGame Team Apparel
1. Riverside Hawks: RH made it to the finals of the MDC and left with the #1 seed into Summer Slam. The played 12U at the Takeover Elite tournament and made a final four run at the MIT this past weekend.
2. Maryland Scholars: The MDC Champs knocked off #1 Riverside to win the Gold Ball. They entered the poll at the #2 spot but we need to see a little more of them to label them #1.
3. We Run: The Bulldogs fell short of collecting their first Spotlight banner but rebounded to win the Takeover Elite title. They knocked off #4 Ferrari of Chicago and revenged an earlier loss to Maryland Spartans.
4. Gauchos: Word is Coach Wee got the Choz back with a buzz. They recently won the Metropolitan AAU Crown in runaway fashion and made a final four march at the MIT. They currently hold the #3 seed for Summer Slam and have a semifinal matchup looming against We Run.
5. Maryland Spartans: MS dropped down a few spots with a less them glamour showing at the MDC and MIT. Hopefully they are saving some of their bullets for Summer Slam where they will face Riverside Hawks in the semifinals.
6. Long Island Lightning: LIL finished runner up to the Gauchos for the Metropolitan crown. They should have some decent pieces to make a run at the AAU Nationals.
7. New Heights: NH had a decent showing at the MDC before making it to the semifinals of the MIT. We got our last personal look at this bunch during the MDC. We wish them good luck for the nationals.
8. DC Assault: The PV squad won their tournament then got an early ouster from the Elite Takeover tourney. They have some new personnel and should be a team to watch come national time.
9. T Town Ballers: The Capitol City crew had some tough sledding at the MDC and finished just short of getting into Summer Slam. They are also looking forward to the Nationals in Cocoa Beach.
10. Delaware Royalty: DR also lost out on Summer Slam because of a tie breaker. They showed good promise this season and we look forward to watching them get it on 2011-2012.
