Mark Bradshaw (Team Nelson)
The Basketball Spotlight MDC 10U had some serious talent. Here's a breakdown of the Baby Ballers that impressed our scouts.
MDC 10 Top Performers
Mark Bradshaw Guard (Team Nelson)- Bradshaw is an aggressive gaurd that can score. He can finish in transition and can hit the open three. He is a good enough ball handler to get pass defenders off the dribble and he is strong enough to attack the lane.
Jaheim Tanksley Guard (Natural Ballers)- Tanskley despite being small in stature, But his athletic ability and super tight handle allow him to get to the rim when he slashes to the basket. His handle is something serious to watch.
Kobe Price Forward (Natural Ballers)- Price is long and athletic with an already strong body that will only continue to fill out. He loves to take the ball off the defensive glass and start the break himself.
Charles Noonan Forward (Gauchos)- Noonan is a fluid athlete, running the wing in transition and finishing plays on drives to the basket. Defensively, Noonan is very good on ball defender. I like is upside because of his length.
Eddie Davis Guard (Gauchos)- Eddie is a really good athlete and a great competitor who plays hard. Not to mention he's very aggressive. Skill-wise, Davis is a solid ball handler who can get to the rim. He goes hard on both ends of the floor.
Delshawn Jackson Guard (CBC)-Jackson can take contact while finishing and he plays at a relentless pace. He is geared for scoring and he can do it in a lot of ways. Whether it is knocking the 3 or taking his man off the dribble in traffic he can put points on the board.
Dominic Logan-Nealy Guard (Parker Running Rebels)- Dominic can attack off the dribble and utilize his explosiveness to finish at the rim. He can knock down the 3. This youngster has the knack to score and understands how important this trait is.
Darrian Dalcourt Forward (Team Rebels)- Dalcourt standouts when he gets into the as paint. His show good size and strength for a kid his age. He also has a very good set of hands that can help him score in the lane with power drop steps or baseline spins.
Justin Money Guard (Team Rebels)- Money is very coachable; He makes the right play and also shows good court vision. He’s really good at penetrating and finding guys. J-Money also shows to be a good finisher around the basket.
Devon Jones Forward (Team Rebels)- Jones has the size and talent to score and rebound. Jones is a player who has the tools and size to dominate in the paint. He got things done and even showed his scoring touch in the finals.
David Cofield Forward (CJ Hawks)- Cofield runs the floor extremely well. Cofield has good hands and scores on drop off passes created by penetration. He is a terrific rebounder on both ends of the floor and has shown a good basketball IQ.
Jari Davis Guard (CJ Hawks)-Davis has the ability to knock down the perimeter jumper he forces his defender to play close. He is a tough defender also. I think he has a versatility.
Kasim Tolliver Guard (Team Nelson)- Tolliver is a mature basketball player. He's not flashy or spectacular, he's reliable and coachable. More of a team runner than a dominant scoring threat, he'll find his niche.

Diary Of A Baller: Isaiah "Boogie" Briscoe (Union, NJ) Entry #8
Monday was an important day in school because we are getting towards the end of the year and we are studying for finals. I got real sleepy after taking lot of notes .However, after school I went to workout at St Bennies, it was great. Later that night I had a double session workout with my dad. Workouts are especially fun with him. When workout was over, I went upstairs and got ready for bed.
On Tuesday I had a great day in school. After school I went to my friend's house to play basketball before my dad came and picked me up to go to St .Bennies workout. After the workout, I started working on my project for school at home. Then I watched YouTube basketball highlights to study some new moves. Lol
The next day in school I received some of my test back. I did very well on all of them. In the afternoon my computer class was cancelled because we had to practice singing for our upcoming school concert (Boring). When school was over I went to workout and after workouts I went to get some sneakers.

Diary Of A Baller: Malachi "Shoota" Richardson (Trenton, NJ) Entry #25
What up everybody!
It's the "Shoota". The last two weeks have been one big roller coaster ride, talk about ups and downs.
School is good, I finally finished my 10 page report, and it was due on Friday. The only problem I had with my report was printing it out, we ran out of colored ink at home; you know my moms went off because I waited until the day it was due to print it out, she said she wasn’t gonna go to the store for more ink, it wasn’t a big deal for me I just needed her to write me a note so I could use the printer at school, then she went on and on talking for about five minutes but it seem like it was a lot longer than that about waiting until the last minute to print it out and she shouldn’t write the note and blah, blah, blah….lol it’s all good tho, I still love my moms. I turned it in and now I’m just waiting on my grade.
We’ve been practicing for our school play “The Wizard of Oz”, so we haven’t had a few classes for a minute. I’m the Wizard; my part is pretty easy so it’s not a big deal. Two and half weeks until school is over, I can’t wait.
As far as basketball goes, we played in a tournament in Neptune, NJ and we went back to Hampton VA for the Southern Invitational we won both tournaments. Our next tournament is the Bob Gibbons Tournament in North Carolina.

Basketball Spotlight MDC 14U Preview: The Last Dance
Is It Banner Time For Team Scan?
The 14U bracket is extremely thick with talented teams. But, first of all this will be the last Basketball Spotlight team event for most of these teams and we would like to thank all you guys for your support over the years. Now back to the top 14U teams that will be in Neptune.
Basketball Spotlight MDC 14U Preview
Team Scan: TS doesn’t want to leave the Spotlight without winning a banner. Some members won a crown as KYDA but none since the merger. They have an excellent chance to running the table and finally knocking off their nemesis called Expressions. The backcourt of Chris Atkinson, Bryce Aiken and Justin Roberts will be counted on heavily.
Expressions: The X called my bluff with a championship game run in AC. Believe or not those 4 points gave them a backdoor chance of making it to Summer Slam. That would be something if they were crowned Grand Champion. Chris Baldwin and Juwan Gooding will look to carry the load.
F.A.C.E.S.: The Boys in Black have cooled off a little after beginning the season on fire. Now it’s on to the MDC so look for General Cole to have the troops ready. They have a serious pool featuring CBC and New Heights.
Fairfax Stars: Coach Pittman boys are excited to get it on at the Spotlight. This is a rugged bunch with loads of experience and a winning tradition. They will lock up with NJ Got Game out the gate. The dynamic duo of Carlos Thrash and Tyvez Monroe gives them a chance to defeat anyone.
CBC: This is CBC 14U first trip to the Spotlight this season. They have one of the top guards in the region in Blair Howard and some quality role players to assist him. They will need all their weapons to make a move through this deep field.
Albany Dream Team: ADT brings a lot of energy to the building. Big Marcus Jackson has trimmed up and should be ready to go. Look for these boys to fight hard to the very end.
NJ Got Game: NJGG will be looking to take home their first Spotlight crown. They had a decent showing in the Clash For The Cup and made it to the final four of the DC Assault Classic. Otis Livingston and Isaiah Still headline this group. We also want to see how Jamir Harris looks in his first Spotlight event in a new jersey.
Linden Ballers: Tha Ballers made it to another NJ AAU State title game. I like the toughness they bring to the table. If the chips fall the right way they might can trip up a few teams. Juwan Dolbrice is a good up and coming guard.
Long Island Lightning: Last year this group made a strong run at the MDC. Now can Lightning strike twice? We will see this weekend. Coach Severio should have the boys ready.
Montgomery County: Coach Stewart said these boys are ready for the Orange Division. Well your wish is my command. They will take on Team Scan from the rip and that should be very interesting. We heard Horace Spencer might be suiting up.
NJ Shore Shots: Luke O’Shaughnessy leads the way for the boys from Hoop Group Headquarters. They should be considered as one of the favorites to win the Blue Division.
NJ Shore Swish: Twin guards Jason and Kyle Czajkowski will be making their Spotlight debuts. This team has some disciplined players and we will see if they can stand the heat baby.
JS Devils: This veteran group features excellent guard Shaun Belbey and forward Jack Laffy. This is also their final chance to reach pay dirt and earn a Spotlight banner.

Basketball Spotlight MDC 13U Preview: There's Nowhere To Hide
Can "The Killer Bees" Snatch Their First Gold Ball?
The 13U division of the MDC should be full of surprises. We will definite have a new champion and it might be one of our first time visitors. Here’s a look at the 7th Graders that are looking to take home the Gold Ball.
Basketball Spotlight 13U Preview
F.A.C.E.S.: The Killer Bees recently won the NJ State crown and have to be one of the favorites to win this event. They have added size this year and it has paid off. The MDC will just be a tune up for this group for Summer Slam.
Gauchos: The Choz were very close in the past as you can see with their Summer Slam point total. This is a versatile bunch with some explosive pieces. When the chips fall they might make it to the championship round.
Team Rebels: The Rodney Dangerfield of this field. They want a little respect and are willing to earn it on the floor. They had a good showing at the AC Showcase and DC Assault Classic. A championship run could sneak them into Summer Slam.
Playaz Basketball Club: The King Of NY champs have made some recent noise on the circuit. They will be making their Spotlight debuts and will be looking to cause a thump.
MABC: No one can be hungrier than “Hail” Caesar and crew. They are looking to repeat their final four MDC run of a year ago. It’s time for the Bengals to take a bite out of the competition.
CT Elite: This group showed mass improvement and has an outside shot of making Summer Slam. Their guard play is outstanding and their inside play is improving. Maybe it’s the new red and black uniforms.
Fairfax Stars: The boys from Northern, Virginia will like to have a better showing than they did at the Grand Finale. Throughout the season they have made deep runs in a few big time tournaments.
Wilson Blue Devils: The NC crew made the trip up north for that good bump. Well they will get it early in pool play as they take on the scrappy Ironmen and the Choz. Welcome to the Spotlight.
Baltimore Panthers: This physical bunch return to the Spotlight after almost a year’s absence. They have the Under Armor tag on them so they have to represent. They might get busy in this wide open field.
M.A.E. Ironmen: If I’m walking down a dark alley I would love to have this group rolling with me. They are as tough as they come and are willing to take on anybody anywhere.
Other Teams To Watch Out For: Philly Freedom, CT Elite (Blue), Montgomery County, NJ Shore Shots, CJ Future Stars, Expressions, Boston Spartans, Kingdom Elite

Basketball Spotlight MDC 12U Preview: Let's Get Ready To Rumble
Can "The Big Red Machine" Cruise Through The MDC?
The 12U Bracket at the MDC will be something to watch. The race for Summer Slam has made things very interesting. Here’s a look at the teams that will collide at Hoop Group Headquarters this weekend.
Basketball Spotlight MDC 12U Preview
Team IZOD: The #1 squad in the region will be looking to add some hardware to the shelf. They are coming off an AC Showcase crown, NJ State title and a runner up finish at the DC Assault Classic. They will carry a huge target as they play for that Summer Slam #1 seed.
CBC: CBC won the DC Assault Classic by knocking off #1 Team IZOD. They are a lock for Summer Slam but would love to leap IZOD for that top seed. They are an explosive offensive bunch. Another showdown with TI might be on the horizon.
Juice All Stars: The CT state champs have been hanging around the final four lane all season. Now they want to take the banner back to the Big Apple. They have enough fire power and recently defeated CBC for the CT title. They are virtually a lock for Summer Slam.
Team Nelson: The swaggered returned with this bunch as they won the Mid Atlantic crown. They have a great 1-2 punch and good coaching on the sidelines. They have the ability to pick up a few big wins.
Playtime Panthers: My surprise team let the cat out of the bag with a near defeat of Team IZOD at the NJ 12U state title game. The Green and Black are no longer a secret and now will be one of the hunted.
6th Man Warriors: This PV squad returns to the Spotlight with hopes of getting deep into the MDC. They are a well disciplined bunch with the ability to win against anyone at any time.
CT Elite: I’m just going to put it out there. This squad is due for a long run. They have 4 Summer Slam points but are actually in a good position to make it to the event. All eyes will be on them in Neptune.
Nike Baltimore Elite Black: They say this is the group that will take the MDC by storm. Well the stage is set and they will have to dance a lot to have a chance at that banner.
Milbank: This squad made some noise in the King Of New York Classic. They have a few players from the Rising Stars that have Spotlight experience. But overall this is uncharted ground for this bunch. Good luck!
Team Final: TF are the favorites to win the Blue Division as they pack some talented players. I won’t be surprised if they make it to Hoop Group on Sunday for the finals.
Other Teams To Watch For: Nike Baltimore Elite, Playaz Basketball Club, Albany Dream Team

Basketball Spotlight MDC 11U Preview: Who Can Handle The Heat?
Riverside Hawks Take The #1 Spot Into The MDC
The wild world of the 11U Division reaches its final leg before Summer Slam. This MDC field is wide open and full of teams with the potential to take it all home. Here’s a look at the top teams invading Central Jersey this weekend.
Basketball Spotlight MDC 11U Preview
Riverside Hawks: The Baby Baller Bonanza Champs want to keep their Spotlight success going. This field is very deep but somehow this squad seems to find their way to the banner round. Right now they are playing for the #1 seed at Summer Slam.
We Run: Their consistency shows by leading the region with Summer Slam points (10). Now they are hoping to cross the threshold to that banner come Sunday evening. Can they handle the Spotlight pressure and finally win one? This weekend will tell it all for the NJ State Champs.
Maryland Spartans: Winning the AC Showcase threw this team thick into the Summer Slam talk. Their crafty but successful style gives them a good chance to run the table. This field is thick but the Spartans should be ready to battle.
Maryland Scholars: This squad finished #11 in the nation last season and seemed to have cracked a few squads at the DC Assault tourney last weekend. Now they will make their Spotlight debut and try to shine bright.
New Heights: Welcome back! This group formerly Fastbreak Basketball should be ready to run once they reach Monroe. They have some excellent guards and good coaching so they are always a threat.
Team NJ ABC: The Mid Atlantic champs are looking to show they belong among the elite. They have a serious pool squeezed between We Run and Maryland Spartans. But they came here for that good bump.
T Town Ballers: Their quest to make Summer Slam has brought them to the MDC. Do they have anything left in the tank? We will see as they square off against New Heights and Maryland Scholars.
Delaware Royalty: This late entry also has a chance of playing at the end of July. If things roll the right way they might end up knocking off a few big dogs. The Royalty is in the building baby.
Nike Baltimore Elite: I haven’t seen this bunch but coming from B’More I expect a tough bunch that likes to push the rock. Welcome to the Spotlight NBE.
NJ Shore Shots: The Shore Shots knocked off a few squads in recent Spotlight events. They are the heavy favorite to win the Blue Division.
Team Final: You also can sleep on this teams chances of taking home Blue gold. They have one of the top guards in the region and other solid pieces.

Basketball Spotlight MDC 10U Preview: Baby Ballers Gear Up For Big Weekend
Can Team Nelson Add The MDC To Their Banner Collection?
The 10U Division of the Basketball Spotlight MDC is packed with some serious talent. This division should have wall to wall grudge matches and some top new players emerging. Here’s a look at some of the top teams in attendance.
Basketball Spotlight MDC 10U Preview
Team Nelson: The Baby Baller Bonanza Champs recently won the Mid Atlantic crown and seem to be a favorite to capture the banner at Hoop Group Headquarters on Sunday. They have some serious talent including POY candidate AJ Hoggard.
CJ Hawks: The Hawks finished highly ranked as a 9U program and are looking to stay afloat when they reach AAU Nationals this year. The MDC will be a great challenge for this bunch and we want to see how they hold down their own turf.
Natural Ballers: NB also has a chance of winning it all. Jahiem Tanksley can dribble through a key hole and has range well past the 3 point line. Will NB break out their classic dance in Neptune? We shall see Sunday.
Team NJ ABC: Gaffney’s bunch has a lot to prove at the MDC. His son Jaylen is one of the most talented floor generals around. He understands how to score while also making his teammates better.
Team Rebels: They caused some raucous at the Baby Baller Bonanza and also has a few good players including spectacular guard Justin Money. They are tough enough to crash this party and take home the banner.
Gauchos: This is our first look at this bunch. They come from a storied program but haven’t been in the Spotlight fire thus far this season. I’m interesting in seeing how they respond to the bright lights.
CBC: They were another pleasant surprise at the Baby Baller Bonanza. Guard DJ Jackson can stroke it from anywhere. That Hartford toughness stands out with this bunch.
Other Teams To Watch For: T Town Ballers, Parker Running Rebels and Linden Ballers
