DC Assault Wins 10U CrownDC Assault had a tough road to win the ship as they had to win 6 games during the weekend and out of the 6 play the other 3 top teams in the region all on Sunday. They first took down Team Takeover in the Quarterfinals 59-46 with Tyler Brelsford (13 points), Mike Sumner (14 points), and Jay Heath (11 points) leading the way while Terrance Williams had 10 boards. They then eliminated MD Finest 56-52. Tyler Brelsford had 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Ishmael Leggett and Jabari Davis had 14 and 10 points respectively. The youngsters then went ahead to beat Fairfax Stars 33-30 in a tough physical defensive battle. Ishmael Leggett stepped up big with 12 points and 6 rebounds while Jay Heath had 13 boards. This big win secures the PV Champs an overall 5th seed at the upcoming 4th Grade AAU Nationals in July in Charlotte, NC. Congratulations to the coaches and players for a job well done.
