What’s up everyone?
It’s “The General” again with another entry.
In school we started our midterms in Spanish, Math, and Science. Math was a little difficult, Science and Spanish were a little easy. I think I prepared well for all the subjects. I studied for about 2 hours with my mother every day so I was ready. We have more midterm tests this week and I’ll let you know how I do.
Now to basketball. This weekend we had the Clash For the Cup. In the Grand Finale we didn’t win a game so I was real souped for this one. I don’t like losing. We had two tough pool play games against F.A.C.E.S and Future Players. In the Future Players game we just wanted to get the win because we felt it would ease the pressure of winning the F.A.C.E.S game. We got a lot of rebounds and pushed the ball a lot in transition. Shout out to Ahmad for getting some boards against big Leroy Butts. We got a lot of fast break buckets and down the stretch made our free throws. At the end of the game we made a few mistakes and they hit some 3 pointers so we only won by about 12 points.
We had a little rest and it was on to F.A.C.E.S. We wanted to win this game so bad, for bragging rights, and because they are one of the hottest teams out there. We came out a little flat with trouble against their press. They went up early. Once we slowed the game down and started running our offense, we started getting buckets down low. And big shout out to Jadon who was making it rain from 3-point land. At half time we were up 11 and Coach Pete said we had to maintain the lead and to keep playing hard. F.A.C.E.S made a little run, but so did we. I also got a technical foul in the game...LOL shout out to my good friend Trey Lowe, I didn’t mean any harm it was just a heated game and we were both playing real physical. In fact, one of my hearing aids got knocked out while battling for a rebound. That hasn’t happened in a long time, but I’ve learned to not call timeout. I just quickly pick it up before it gets stepped on, or if we’re on the break one of my parents will run out and get it. They’re expensive lol. We wound up winning by 11.
Sunday we had a tough game against Team Takeover. They got out early on us, and they stayed on top of us. We had trouble against their man-to-man press. They were swarming in the half-court defense and they were long so they got a lot of steals. Their big man was really good, he was making 3 pointers so it was tough. We ended up losing by about 20 points, so it was a blow out. My coach said he was happy with us on how we performed this weekend against F.A.C.E.S and Future Players. We need to get in the lab and work on not making as many turnovers against a long athletic defensive team. It’s all good, and I’m very happy about our performance as well.
