The Basketball Spotlight Top 10 Presented by AGame Apparel is back. I know we have our Summer Slam point system but we still have to chart who we think are the Top 10 Teams of each age group. This is just our opinion and should be taken as such.
Basketball Spotlight 13U Top 10 Presented By AGame Apparel
1. DC Assault: This collection of talent might have all the tools to make a serious run at the AAU Nationals. They ran through the Grand Finale and should be returning north for the Atlantic City Showcase.
2. Team Final: The reigning Team Of The Year finally hit the hardwood this past weekend in Pennsylvania. Now they will set their sights on AC. If they have plans on making it to Summer Slam they must make deep runs in the AC Showcase and MDC.
3. Gauchos: The Choz made it to the finals of the Clash For The Cup. Right now they are in a first place tie with F.A.C.E.S. with 7 Summer Slam points. They seem to be in a good spot to qualify for the August event.
4. F.A.C.E.S.: The Clash For The Cup winners made a big leap from our last poll. The new additions seem to have settled in and now they are looking like the “Killer Bees” again.
5. New Heights: New York league play had NH absent from the Clash For The Cup. Hopefully we can catch them at the AC Showcase. I’m interested to see how they respond without the services of Rakym Felder.
6. Team Scan: TS had a tough run at the Clash. But I do believe they have bounce back ability because of their talented roster. They are also vying for a Summer Slam spot.
7. Philly Triple Threat: PTT knocked off a few good teams at the Clash as they made a Final Four appearance. This tough squad should be a force to reckon with the rest of the way.
8. CT Elite: A Final Four appearance at the Clash moved this squad up a few spots. I don’t believe we have heard the last of them. A good AC showing will have them in the thick of the Summer Slam race.
9. MABC: The Beantown boys have been kind of quiet as of late. They should be coming down soon to tangle at the Spotlight. We will be waiting.
10. Force One: We haven’t heard much from this group since they won the Grand Finale Blue Division. Hopefully we will get another look at this bunch.
