Diary Of A Baller: Otis "The General" Livingston (NJ Got Game) Entry #11

What’s good people?,

This is “The General” checkin’ in with another diary entry. This week was a great week! It was filled with love and joy. I just want to give thanks to my parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, teachers, coaches, and friends. I would like to thank Mike Melton for giving me this opportunity to write about my life as a baller and also for spotlighting kids and teams who put in work.

My week started off with a shocker. I woke up and saw my sister Hayley in my kitchen. I was so happy I just ran and hugged her. I thought she was only coming for Christmas. My sister, Alex, also came home for the holiday. So with my Great Grandmother here, we had a full house again. It was great to have the whole family here to celebrate Thanksgiving. Tuesday I didn’t really do much as far as basketball, but did a light physical workout (gotta keep getting stronger!). Wednesday I was out sick so I stayed home and rested, and hung out with my sisters. We talked a lot and got caught up on each other’s lives. I also helped my mother a little bit with the cooking.

Thursday of course was Thanksgiving! We were just chilling while my mom put the finishing touches on the food. My father worked early that morning and took my sisters and Kiki to the Bowery Mission to help serve some of the needy. He says that’s always our duty, not just around the holidays. My cousin came over, and then the feast began! We talked a lot and made jokes about each other. It was a really fun Thanksgiving. Over the break I mainly just chilled with the family watching movies and doing a little homework. We didn’t have Got Game practice so I did some workouts on my own especially some dribbling drills. I along with a lot of my South Orange Middle School teammates got invited to watch Columbia High School’s Varsity and JV practices. It was cool. They worked out hard. It’s crazy to think I’ll be in High School next year. I have to keep on working so I’ll be ready. That means lots of dribbling, shooting, running, push-ups, and of course watching a lot of games to pick up some new stuff. Also, gotta keep hitting the books hard so I’ll be ready for the HS academics.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break filled with love and turkey!
