Diary Of A Baller: Malachi "Shoota" Richardson (Trenton, NJ) Entry #11
What’s good everybody! Happy Thanksgiving! My week was gravy, everything was good. I relaxed, ate a lot, worked out, watched a lot of basketball, and finished a school project on Sunday.
My cousin Gwen from Atlanta came to visit for Thanksgiving. It’s been like 5 years since we hung out, the last time she came to Jersey I had to school her in basketball, I think that’s why she gave it up…lol. She really gave up basketball to concentrate on her music. I knew she was into the music thing, but not like this. She’s a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She’s a producer, writer, and singer and she’s not even 20 years old yet. She produced some songs for Ryan Leslie, and she let me listen to some of the beats she was putting together for Wiz Khalifa, they were hot. She’s well known in the Boston area, because she does gigs on the side, but her plan is to finish school and move back to Atlanta and blowup! It was cool hanging out and talking to her. Remember the name Gwen Bunn, you heard it first at bballspotlight…lol. Check her out at GwenBunn.com.
In between spending time with my family, I had two games during the week for my school team, we had our own tournament. We won the championship and we are still undefeated. We also celebrated my Mom’s birthday on Wednesday, of course it was her sister’s (twin) birthday too and their brother. For Thanksgiving we went to my grandmother’s house, ate a lot and had a good time with my family. My Aunt Jackie made a mean caramel cake, it was my first time tasting a cake like that, it was so good me and my mom ate half the cake.
I checked out Trenton Catholic Academy’s practice on Friday and Saturday. Some of the players looked and played nervous on the first day. The second day was a lot better. When I start my high school career, I will make sure I’m in shape. Saturday morning Team Final had practice. We were a little sloppy at the beginning, but we got it together and finished up a lot sharper.
Sunday I was typing my school project, and my mom screamed on me for waiting until the last minute to get it done, but she didn’t give me a chance to tell her it was done a few days ago I just decided to type it instead of handing it in the way it was. And I needed a little distraction from the Eagles game….lol.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving…….back to school and ball.
