F.A.C.E.S. Got The Prize
Ahmad Harrison had a huge game as F.A.C.E.S. defeated B Rock Basketball 63-45 to win the Hoop Group Columbus Weekend Showdown 14U Championship. Glenn Bates was the high scorer for B Rock in the loss.
MVP
Ahmad Harrison Guard (F.A.C.E.S.)- Harrison played big on defense while roaming the passing lanes and intercepting passes. After grabbing the rock Harrison charged the basket and made things happen. He was able to finish off plays and involve teammates. He does need to stay under control and work on his jumper.
Samir Taylor Guard (F.A.C.E.S.)- Taylor looked very comfortable being one of the main focuses of the offense. He was able to knock down the mid range shot with a very fluid stroke. I was happy to see him playing very confident again.
Walker Wilson Forward (F.A.C.E.S.)- Wilson is making strong strides on the post. He's getting stronger and starting to put a couple of moves together. Like many others his best basketball days are ahead of him. Keep working young fella.
Mike Jolaoso Guard (F.A.C.E.S.)- Jolaoso was back at the point for F.A.C.E.S. and did an efficient job. He got the ball to teammates in the correct spots and didn’t turn it over. Defensively, he led the press attack and forced steals.
Glenn Bates Guard (B Rock)- Bates impressed me with his strength and ability to get into the teeth of the defense. He fought the pressure but does need to work on driving hard with is off hand. He could become a solid high school guard.
Jeff Bryant Forward (B Rock)- Jeff is very long standing 6’5 with a 6’9 wingspan. He blocked about 12 shots and was force on the glass. Offensively, he’s still developing but could turn out to be one to watch. Visits to the weight room, time and development will be his key to success.
CJ Blue Guard (B Rock)- Blue really has a nice stroke from the perimeter. He got off a couple of treys when the ball reversed his way. In terms of ball handling he is ok but needs to get a little stronger to handle the elite level.
