Basketbull Columbus Day Classic Top Performers 13U

Cameron Winston Brought His Game Today

Basketball Spotlight traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts for the Basketbull Columbus Day Classic. Here’s a look at the top 13U performers that impressed us on Day 1.

13U Top Performers

Cameron Winston Guard (Team Scan)- Winston continues to improve his wing game. I must say his jump shot coming around as he knocked down several treys. When finishing under the basket he ran into a little trouble when he failed to gather himself before going up. All in all I like how he’s improving.

Korey Benson Forward (Team Scan)- Korey is a good energy player and looks even better when playing under control. In transition be powered his way through the defense and finished with thrusting left hand layups. He’s tough to stop when he’s full speed ahead.

Kaheem Campbell Forward (Team Scan)- This fresh face for Scan gave them a boost inside. He glided past shot blockers before converting at the rim. This was his first game with this group but he blended in well. He should be a welcomed addition to this squad.

Mustapha Heron Forward (CT Elite)- Heron was a work horse inside for this club. He’s always around the rock and cleans the glass like Windex. This kid’s motor and athleticism is through the roof. You better bring your lunch when playing against him.

Thomas Jackson Guard (CT Elite)- It wasn’t typical shooting day for “Automatic” but he still managed to hit some buckets and keep his squad in the game. Team Scan did a good job shadowing him in their man to man and matchup zone.

John Jenkins Guard (CT Elite)- Jenkins is strong with the rock and I like his mid range pull up in the lane. He doesn’t waste time with fancy moves instead he uses substance to get things done. He’s a good complementary player.
