Team Battle To Team Final?One of the hottest topics after the AAU Nationals was that #5 Team Battle would trade in the Black and Red For the Aqua Blue of Team Final. This would be an interesting move because Team Battle would probably relocate to the Mid Atlantic Region and become the instant favorite to win the MA Crown. NJ State Tournament without Team Battle, Wow! We will keep you posted as things develop.
KYDA Merges With Team Scan?Word from the Bronx is that KYDA one of the hottest teams on the circuit has merged with Team Scan. This might be a good move because TS is known for developing talent and KYDA has some good pieces including forward Bobby Martin Jr... Either way this squad should be a true force to reckon with. We will let you know when this merger becomes official.
Who’s the New King Of New York?Now that Isaiah Whitehead has entered Lincoln High School the big question is who will be taking over the reigns as the best grammar school player in New York. This race seems to be wide open but early candidates include the versatile guard Donovan Mitchell (The City), Davonte Green (Gauchos) or blazing newcomer Chris Atkinson (KYDA). When you throw in the players reclassifying than this crown is really up for grabs and Basketball Spotlight will be watching.
