Philly Aztecs Final Four Bound!The Philly Aztecs defeated Team Stat from Florida 63-53 to advance to the AAU 13 and Under Final Four. The Aztecs have been a dangerous team all year and just kept getting better. Coach Antoinette Bennett feels the team came together at the right time, “We have been so close to winning some big tournaments all year. I knew we could make a run and I told the guys just take one game at a time” said Bennett.
The Aztecs road to the final four didn’t come without bumps. They suffered a heartbreaking overtime loss to Team Swat from Louisiana in pool play. Coach Bennett felt the team learned from the loss. “After almost beating the #3 team in the country we felt we could play with anyone so it actually was a confident booster. When the game ended the coach from Swat told me that he felt we had a chance to make a run to the final four. He said we reminded him of his team last year” she finished.
Congratulations to Coach Bennett, her staff and the boys for making it to the AAU Final Four. This is a moment you guys will remember for the rest of your lives.
