Rakym "Bed Stuy Bully" Felder
Day 3 brought some top games as the #1 and #2 seeds locked up. Here’s a breakdown of the top players that proved their worth.
Day 3 Top Performers Part 1
Rakym Felder Guard (New Heights)- The Bully was just that today as he scorched Memphis War Eagles for 30 markers. Felder pulled treys from the parking lot and muscled his way to several other buckets. Memphis tried several defensive schemes but nothing could slow down this freight train.
Terrell Turner Forward (New Heights)- Turner played some big minutes for NH. He’s definitely handling the rock a lot more and uses his improved quickness to get past defenders. I love the way his game has transformed over the years.
Jakeem Sturgis Forward (New Heights)- Sturgis is an active body which helps his team get second chance opportunities. Sometimes he tries shots that are extremely difficult but no one can question his effort on the glass and on defense.
Dedric Lawson Forward (Memphis War Eagles)- Lawson looked like a baby Tim Duncan today. He floated baby hooks in the lane and kissed a couple buckets off the glass. He helped make things interesting against New Heights for 3 and half quarters.
Jayson Tatum Guard (Memphis War Eagles)- I think he’s more of a point than he’s showing. I saw Jayson’s instincts with the rock and he seems to be a Shawn Livingston type guard when giving the opportunity. Look out for this kid for years to come.
Asante Gist Guard (KSK)- Gist gave his opponents fits with a mean mid range game. His team was trailing and Gist stepped up his scoring while also dropping off a couple passes. He finished with close to 30 points including about 20 markers in the second half.
Matthew Bullock Forward (KSK)- Bullock plays bigger than his actual size. His strong upper body is used to stabilize shot blockers and his touch around the basket is just tremendous. He did most of his damage on the baseline.
