Derryck "Houdini" Thornton
On day 4 the action really heated up. The championship bracket play got underway and the gym was buzzing. Here’s a look at some of the top performers.
Day 4 Top Performers
Derryck Thornton Guard (Cal. Aces)- One of my goals upon arriving was to find the top point guard in the country and Thornton is just that. He’s a magician with the pill and has the meanest crossover I’ve seen in years. The silky smooth floor general directed his squad to a lopsided win against CC1st. Introducing Derryck Thornton Aka Houdini because he makes defenders disappear.
Jayce Wolfe Guard (CC1st)- Wolfe exploded earlier in the day against Memphis. This kid is full speed ahead and specializes in scoring in traffic. He had several guards puzzled trying to figure out his style. He ran out of gas against the Aces because of the effort he puts in and the heat in the gym.
Gilberto Cue Guard (KSK)- Cue nailed the three ball and muscled his way into the lane. Once he got inside he spoon fed the big men for easy buckets. He’s just too physically mature to contain on this level.
Ashon Riggins Guard (Cincinnati Lakers)- Riggins dazzled the crowd with dribble penetration against SC Ravens. Down the stretch he penetrated at will and converted in the lane. He looked very dominant at times.
Ty Graves Guard (SC Ravens)- Graves stroked the outside shot but also played great defense. His steal at the end of the game sealed the deal and gave them the win. His most memorable shot was a trey from the corner to give them the lead.
Seven Woods Guard (SC Ravens)- This youngster nailed three treys and took over the game down the stretch against the Lakers. He danced in the lane for a couple of buckets but his most impressive play was when he found Graves in the corner for the go ahead three.
