Jamir Harris Played Big Today.
Day 2 of the 12U Nationals took place today and there were some exciting moments. Here’s a look at some of the top players from the morning session.
Day 2 Top Performers Part 1
Jamir Harris Forward (Team Battle)- Harris destroyed DC Assault Clark in their featured matchup. He got buckets on the baseline also broke their hearts with a few big treys. In the 3rd quarter he really stepped up his play going for 16 points in the period. He was virtually unstoppable at times.
Vaughn Covington Guard (Team Battle)- Covington did a great job defensively against Mister Cowan. His length took away Cowan’s step back trey and forced him into the lane where the help defense was waiting. Offensively, he made some serious moves towards the bucket which helped them pull out the win.
Brad Hawkins Guard (Team Battle)- Hawkins also stepped up defensively in this game. He fought hard through screens and played the passing lanes well. On offense he got out into transition and converted.
Reggie Gardner Guard (DC Assault)- Gardner got free and made TB play from the perimeter. He found his range from behind the arc and when TB over played he sliced to the cup for scores. He showed up big in front of this capacity crowd.
Jamar Watson Guard (DC Assault)- Watson hurt TB with several runners in the lane. He shoots the outside shot southpaw style but loves using his right hand for the floater. This kid is truly a veteran.
Jacob Valero Guard (Next Level)- Jacob hurt the Cincinnati Lakers feelings with his heroic play at the end of the game. He drained a trey ball which tied the score then got a steal and knocked down another trey off the glass as the buzzer sounded. It was definitely one of the top plays of the day.
Isiah Saenz Guard (Next Level)- The pint size point guard has a slow dribble and super quick crossover. He kept defenders off balance and he knifed down the lane. Many opponents will sleep because of his size but this kid will make you pay.
