AGame Super Shootout Day 1: 13U Top Performers

Juwan Gooding (VCB)

The AGame Super Shootout kicked off today and Basketball Spotlight provided coverage. We finished our night off watching a few 13U games. Here are the top performers from this age group.

13U Top Performers Day 1

Juwan Gooding Guard (VBC)- Gooding took over the game against the Future Players. The southpaw combo guard destroyed the defense by beating them off the dribble with a wicked crossover and hesitation dribbles. The powerful scored from the perimeter, in the lane and with defenders draped all over him. At one point he was virtually unstoppable. He ended the contest with a half court buzzer beater. His performance was outstanding.

Horace Spencer Forward (Montgomery County)- Spencer played like the prospect in the building. The 6’7 power forward likes to show wing potential and runs the floor like a deer. His development is needed and seems to be getting better. We might be looking at the mega star from the Tri-State area. His potential is through the roof.

Anthony Carr Guard (Philly Triple Threat)- Carr is a smooth point guard that caught my eye. He danced his way around the NJ Got Game defense and finished off tough plays down the stretch. He finished the game as the team’s leading scorer.

Ray Lawry Guard (Team Final)- Lawry showed some toughness as usual. He drained a few outside shots and used his strength to bully his way to the tin. On defense he ripped a few ball handlers which led his team to transition buckets. This kid plays great defense.

Lamar Kimble Guard (Team Final)- It was another easy scoring night for Kimble. He kills you along the baseline while using his body to shield defenders while scoring in traffic. Pound for Pound he might be the best pure scorer in the region for this age group.

Malik Ellison Guard (Team Final)- Ellison showed the ability to run a team. He’s very efficient in terms of making his teammates better and picking his spots to attack. He has transformed himself into a pass first point guard.
