Rakym Felder AKA Bed-Stuy Bully
New York City has always been the home of young phenoms on the basketball court. I know you have heard of Stephon Marbury, Sebatian Telfair and Lance Stephenson so now get ready for Rakym Felder AKA Bed-Stuy Bully. Felder is a high scoring guard for New Heights NYC and is currently averaging over 25 points a game. His coach Greg Tejadi feels he has a chance to join the list above “I don’t like to make comparisons but with his size and ability to shoot the rock I think he has a chance to be very special” said Greg.
Felder has shown this special talent at the Grand Finale (All Tournament Team) and Clash For The Cup where he took home MVP honors. Right now he’s one of the front runners for Player Of The Year Honors. Tejadi saw these talents in Rakym very early “I remember when he was 10 and we played the Gauchos at UDC. The game came down to the wire and we were down two points. Rakym came down and nailed a three to give us the win. I knew he was special then” Tejadi finished.
Like all great players Felder must continue to improve to get better. His coach agrees “Right now he needs to work on his ball handling and pull up off the dribble. He also needs to know that he doesn’t have to go for the homerun every play. Sometimes when you are very talented you try to make the big play too often. It will come with time though” said Tejadi.
Basketball Spotlight will keep you posted on Rakym’s progress and quest to be on the NYC list of great ones.
