Basketball Spotlight 11U Top 10 Rankings: Team Battle Reigns Supreme!

Team Battle Remains On Top

The 11U Top 10 Rankings are here. A lot has happened since our last rankings and Basketball Spotlight will take all of this into consideration. These rankings are only our opinion and should be taking as such. The rankings are based on tournament play and who we feel are just the better teams.

Basketball Spotlight 11U Top 10

1. Team Battle: There’s no question about if this squad is number 1. They won the 11U State Crown again and repeated as Basketball Spotlight MDC Champs. They are peaking right now and we expect a huge run in Cocoa Beach this summer at the AAU Nationals.

2. DC Assault: DC Assault finished runner up at the MDC while possessing a wealth of talent and experience. They have all the pieces they need to make another run at a National crown in Cocoa Beach. When they are on they’re hard to beat.

3. F.A.C.E.S.: They made it to the Final Four in the NJ State Tournament and the MDC before winning the Hall Of Fame Classic this weekend. Their guard play is one of the best in the region. They are a scary match up for anyone.

4. New Heights: The Metropolitan AAU Champs had an unexpected early exit at the MDC but do pack a punch that can knock anyone out at any given moment. Rakym Felder can take over any game at anytime.

5. Team Takeover: I like this PV squad a lot. I saw them at the DC Assault tourney and I was impressed with their pieces and the way they competed on the floor. They will be an interesting team to watch at the Nationals.

6. Gauchos: The Choz have lost a little steam since their hot start this year. They still finished runner up to New Heights at the Metropolitan AAU Championships after making it to the quarterfinals at the MDC. I would ove to see them at the Nationals.

7. MABC: This team impressed me up at the Hall Of Fame. Their guard play is tough and Jamal Allen is one of the most talented 5th Graders I came across this year. This kid does it all!

8. Sam Cassell All Stars: This squad won the Kingwood Classic in Texas before making a trip to Jersey for the Return of The Tyrant. I like some of the pieces they had when I saw them at the Show Me Invitational but I heard that don’t have all the same personnel.

9. KBR: The question with this team is which KBR will show up? They had a good run during the state tournament and at the MDC making the final four. When they have all their players they can make a little noise.

10. Long Island Lightning: The Lightning had made some improvements and are a tough out right now. They had a decent showing at the MDC and held their own up at the Hall Of Fame.

Editors Notes: We do believe that King Street Kings are among the top 10 teams in the region but we do understand and respect their coaches wishes of not being in our rankings.
