Diary Of A Baller: Jordan Forehand Entry #1
Hello, my name is Jordan Forehand. I am a 6”0 combo guard and I live in Bridgewater, New Jersey. I am currently in the eighth grade and I attend Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, New Jersey. My favorite subject is social studies. My parents make sure that I stay on top of my academics. They tell me that basketball gets you to the door, but academics is what opens the door. People don't realize how hard it is trying to be a scholar-athlete.
As you all know, I love to play basketball, but that is not all that I do. As any other teenager likes to do, I like to hang out with my friends, going to movies and downloading the latest songs onto my iPod. I like listening to rap music. My favorite artists are Sheek Louch and Jay Z.
Even though I have a busy life, I enjoy hanging out with my “Fam”, my dad, Michael and my mom, Rochelle. I also enjoy playing one on one basketball games against my cousin, Chris.
Now let’s talk basketball. I played on my school team, Rutgers Prep, this year. We were undefeated. To keep my skills up, I played on a couple of 14U teams during the fall and winter. One team was the Hoop Heaven Heat my boy’s Jarren Sina, Shacor Edwards and Josh. I played with them for about 4 or 5 tournaments. I am also playing on the PLAYAZ Basketball Club “Eight is Enough” league that we are running through. The league will be over in a week or two, but it has been a great ride with them.
During the summers, I have played with the Greenburgh Kings, a team that I have been with since I was eight years old. In 2007, we participated in the Nationals down in Memphis, Tennessee. This past summer, we were in the Nationals down in Orlando, Florida. Some of my best friends are on this team. We have a lot of fun hanging out and just kickin’ it!
I am also playing with a Hoop Group AAU team called the Shore Shots with coach Adam Turner. Coach Adam also runs great camps up in the Pocono Mountains with Hoop Group.
I have recently attended the Hoop Group Elite Top 100 camp, Phenom Adidas camp and the Elite 80 which was hosted by Basketball Spotlight. I enjoy going to these camps because you get to meet a lot of people and play against top competition. I met Kody Jenkins at the Adidas camp and we have become very good friends. We work out together at least twice a week. This summer, I will be attending the Phenom Top 150 and the Reebok All-American Camp.
Right now, my mom is telling me to get my shower. So it is time to shut it down.
J4 – Out!
