Team Arizona Wins Elite 80 Expo

Team Arizona

Floyd Preito Guard (Philadelphia, PA)- The point guard gave one of the best performances of the camp. He controlled the tempo, hit big shots and assumed the role as a floor general. Sometimes players have games where they make all the right plays and Floyd was in that type of zone. I wanted to see if he could run the show in a high level contest and he showed me he was more than capable.

Howard Sellers Guard (Coatesville, PA)- During the timeout Sellers said he wanted the rock and the newcomer got it done. He drove the length of the court and hit the huge bucket right before the buzzer. Many top players have done this and now Howard can edge his name in stone with theirs.

Britton Lee Guard (Philadelphia, PA)- The explosive guard just forces his will on any game he competes in. Lee aggressive style frustrates some ball handlers and on the offensive end he finds a way to get buckets. Even if his shot is short Britton eagerly follows it up and usually find the rock to convert.

Gabriel Chandler Forward (Atlantic City, NJ)- The force inside did a good job playing defense and keeping the ball alive. He’s always a low post threat but in this one he tried to shot too many outside shots. Don’t get me wrong he has 3 point range but he was more effective inside. He’s truly hungry.

Team Duke

Jordan Forehand Guard (Bridgewater, NJ)- Forehand’s play early made kept things close for his team. He repeatedly beat the tough Philly defenders off the dribble and finished over them off the glass with his vertical leap. He caught fire and understood that he was his team to hold it down. After watching him dominate the Adidas Jr. Phenom Camp I wondered how he would do against this tougher comp and he was the same story.

Jaren Sina Guard ((Lake Hopatcong, NJ)- Sina’s jumper wasn’t falling like the game before so he began to attack the hole and convert on some tough shots in traffic including a leaner with his left hand. Jaren also knows when to leak out and give his team easy layup buckets.

Shacore Edwards Guard (Irvington, NJ)- Opponents can’t feel safe when he’s on the floor and in the game nothing was different. Edwards was deadly attacking on the baseline and in the lane. He also drained a big time trey to make things very interesting.

Keion Osbourne Guard (North Jersey, NJ)- This kid has serious range. Many kids can shoot it from the perimeter but his range is when he walks into the gym. In the final he launched a jumper between the 3 point line and half court. He has deadeye range.

Joel Hernandez Guard (Teaneck, NJ)- Joel amazed me with his ability to rebound the ball on this level. For e scoring guard he has a true nose for the rock and isn’t afraid to stick his nose in there against the big boys. He has an all around game.
