Mikey Dixon (Wilmington, DE)
Day 3 the action really picked us as teams prepared for the playoffs and All Star game spots were on the line. I got a chance to see just about every team in attendance today and we decided to break this report into two parts. One for each division (NCAA and NBA). Here’s the NCAA division standout players on Day 3.
Day 3 Top Performers (NCAA)
Mikey Dixon 4’10 Guard (Wilmington, DE)- There’s probably not another player as intense as Dixon when he hits the floor. You can see the passion in his eyes while the game is going on. The youngster pushes the rock with great quickness, sets the team’s tempo and will pull a long trey if he has to. During a heated battle this evening he played very poised and was effective.
Wade Baldwin 5’3 Guard (Montgomery, NJ)- Baldwin had the jumper falling early on in the evening contest. He even knocked down an NBA range trey as time expired at the half. Towards the end of the game he got a little frustrated which is something normal for youngsters at this age playing in such an intense contest.
Shaquan Worthy 4’10 Guard (Trenton, NJ)- Worthy played his quickness to get to the bucket and create opportunities for teammates. His low and quick dribbling skills make it very difficult for any defenders to strip him while going to the cup. He also wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t back down from anyone.
Malik Smith 5’5 Guard (Philadelphia, PA)- It was another solid performance from Smith today. The slick Philly guard hits the gaps like a blur and has enough dribble moves in his arsenal to keep defenders on the heels. Smith reminds me of Myles Mack when he was in grammar school. (Wow, I’m getting old).
Deante Cole 5’0 Guard (Ewing, NJ)- The lefty once again put on an impressive show. He carves his way into the lane with nice ball handling then hits a teammates cutting to the hoop. He loves using the wrap around pass to feed teammates under the hoop.
Stephen Vasturia 5’8 Guard (Medford, NJ)- Stephen came back today with an impressive outing. He was very to his team’s thrilling win by running the floor and converting in transition. He also eats rebounds and will stick his hands up often to block shots. One spin move he attempted was outstanding even though he missed the lay up.
Vincent Jackson 5’2 Guard (Cherry Hill, NJ)- Jackson isn’t shy from the perimeter and got hot in his afternoon game. When the rock was rotated his way he calmly stepped into a couple of trey balls and a few mid range shots. His shooting stretched the defense.
Kaison Randolph 5’9 Forward (Trenton, NJ)- Randolph brought a lot of energy today running the floor and finishing off plays. He has some nice mid range touch and uses his athleticism to make a difference on the floor. He’s very long and hasn’t even touched any potential in his game thus far.
Trevonn Morton 5’11 Forward (Brooklyn, NY)- Morton lacks complete coordination right now by you can see once he gets it all together he will be able to produce. He’s a live body player that blocks shots and hammers the boards.
Jake Dadika 5’2 Guard (Milltown, NJ)- Dadika settled in during his last game. He made some soft shots in the mid range area before settling up teammates in transition. Once he got comfortable in the camp setting he began to flourish.
