Inside The MDC: 10 and Under Division

We are about to take a look inside the MDC 10 and Under Division. This report will give you detailed coverage of who did what in this age bracket. We also will breakdown our Best of The MDC awards. There were many interesting happenings in this age bracket.

Inside The MDC: 10 and Under

KBR vs. FACES (A Classic)
I got a chance to watch many games during the tournament but the semifinal match up with FACES and KBR was the most intense game I saw during the MDC. This battle was fierce and it was standing room only around the floor. Both teams gave it their all with players diving on the floor and wrestling to loose balls. The crowd was into it and it seemed like all the other games in the gym were on pause while they were getting it on. FACES ended up pulling it out in the end 32-31 but this was definitely a MDC Classic.

Playtime vs. Riverside (Decide It On The Floor)

Playtime Basketball and Riverside Hawks were tied in the pool play. We went down all the guidelines and they still remained tied. The rules stated that they should flip a coin but these two squads wanted to bang for the right to advance. We had room for the game over in Rebounds so the battle grounds were set. Playtime wasted little time getting after Riverside and had a 20 plus point lead before the ref called the game.

Best Of The MDC 10 and Under

Best Game: KBR vs. FACES (Read Above)

Best Shooter: Adam Frank (FACES)- The little guy had a pure stroke that he displayed throughout the tourney. He wasn’t afraid to fire up from anywhere.

Best Scorers: Tylynn Johnson (Playtime)- Johnson went for 20 big ones against FACES helping his squad knock off the powerhouse 45-41 in pool play. He knocked down 4 treys in the process.

Best Performers: RJ Cole (Faces) and Tyus Battle (Team Battle)-

RJ Cole played up and performed in two age divisions while proving to be a true warrior all weekend. In FACES loss to Playtime he carried the torch with 18 points.

Tyus Battle brought his A game and showed way he is considered one of the top 10 and Under performers in the land. He can just change the impact of a game instantly. He has some serious skills.

Best Surprise: KBR Basketball

The was my first glance at KBR 10 and Under squad. I have to say that they brought their game and played both of the finalists very tough. They lost to Team Battle by 8 and fell short against FACES by 1. I think they have made a name for themselves in the region.

Best Supporting Cast: Team Battle

Tyus Battle gets a lot of shine but his teammates do contribute greatly on the floor. There team defense locks down opponents and they move the ball well on offense. Shout outs to Sa’eed Nelson, Joey Krempa, Jamir Harris and Edriese Patterson.
