Baby Ballerz Impressive At 12U Div. 2 State Tourney
Livingston Made Things Happen
The 12U Division State Tourney gave me a chance to check out some of the top 11U talent in NJ. Some players made a name for themselves while others showed they were worth the hype.
Otis Livingston Guard (KSK)- Livingston showed tremendous heart and talent in their game against CJ Future Stars. He got anywhere he wanted on the floor and made some good decisions with the rock. On the defensive end he was one of the KSK guards that caused a lot of havoc.
Mike Runcie Guard (KSK)- Before making the game winner in the finals Runcie was effective in the quarterfinals. He was able to put the rock on the floor and create opportunities for his squad.
Austin Goodluck Forward (FACES)- I was impressed with Goodluck’s energy and play in their loss to Trenton B&G. He fought for position on the blocks and displayed some decent post moves. He played some inspired ball.
Kyle Phipps Guard (Linden Ballers)- The Ballers were in a dog fight with Bayshore but Phipps kept his composure at the point and helped them pull out the victory. He made sure they ran their sets while anchoring their defense on the other end.
Isiah Still Guard (Linden Ballers)- Still’s athleticism helped him make some key buckets down the stretch. He’s heard to guard at that size and can explode to the cup at times.
Miles Powell Guard (CJ Future Stars)- I heard about Powell balling skills and I must admit the chatter was well worth it. The youngster can create his own shot and shoot from anywhere in the gym. He has a lot of bounce in his game and uses a mixture of dribbles moves to get open.
Jack Byrnes Forward (Bayshore Bulldogs)- Jack was very aggressive during their battle with Linden. He handled the rock with purpose and attacked the cup at times.
